How To Wear Flares April 22 2015

So, with the 70s back in fashion this year, we here at CIRO Jewellery have been pondering the look in the office, deciding what we’ll be wearing as 2015 wears on – and we’re totally going to be rocking flares with our freshwater pearl necklaces and other jewellery this year. But how best to get the look without seeming too old-fashioned? Check out our style tips here.

Keep it simple

Flares can be really flattering and if you’re after a fresh daytime look, there’s nothing better. Pair them with some oversized sunglasses, a giant handbag and a plain white tee for a super-simple look that will turn heads wherever you go. Keep your accessories to a minimum – we’re thinking a few bracelets at your wrist, some drop earrings and that’s it. Perfecto!

Of course, since it’s the 70s, a boho look would be a great way to bridge the gap between spring and summer. Get yourself a high-waisted pair and pull on a slouchy plain top or a Breton shirt for a more nautical look. Tuck your shirt in at the waist to really show your flares off and pull on your favourite sandals or wedge heels to fully get in the spirit of things.

Choosing the right pair of shoes is pretty important when it comes to rocking flares with, well, flair. Converse look great peeking out from beneath your trousers, as do platforms and wedges, as well as gladiator sandals. Bear in mind, however, that it’s all about the length of your flares that will determine what shoes work best. For even more style inspiration, take a peek at this Harper’s Bazaar article.
